Vivid Sydney – Laser Lightfall: Free Hourly Show at Cockle Bay

Laser Lightfall is Vivid Sydney's most ambitious outdoor laser show — and it's completely free, running every hour from 6pm at Cockle Bay in Darling Harbour.

What to expect

Each 7-minute show builds in intensity: starting with single colours calling and responding across the water, then layering into a dazzling, multi-beam finale set to music. The lasers sweep across the sky and reflect off the harbour surface, creating a wraparound experience that genuinely dazzles — especially for younger children seeing lasers for the first time.

Tips for families

• Shows run every hour on the hour from 6pm to 11pm — easy to fit around dinner or the Light Walk.
• Runs every night from 22 May to 13 June. No need to plan ahead — just be at Cockle Bay when the hour strikes.
• Best viewed from the western side of Cockle Bay (near the IMAX building or Tumbalong Park).
• Completely free, no tickets or bookings needed.
• Combine with the Tumbalong Kids concert (Saturdays 5pm) and the Star-Bound Drone Show (Sun–Wed 7:30pm & 9:30pm) for a full Vivid family evening.

Darling Harbour is easily reached from Town Hall Station or the Darling Harbour ferry. The area is fully pram-accessible.
