Vivid Sydney kicks off its free weekly kids' concert series with The Mik Maks at Tumbalong Park — the perfect warm-up act before the city lights up at 6pm.
About The Mik Maks
The Mik Maks are brothers Joel and Al McInnes, Joel's daughter Ava and their mate Drums the Panda — a family band with over 9.2 million YouTube subscribers and a reputation for high-energy, colour-drenched rock music designed to get kids (and parents) dancing. Their show is described as "guaranteed giggles for the whole family" and they tour stages across Australia to sell-out crowds.
What to expect
- One hour of live music starting at 5pm — perfectly timed before Vivid lights switch on at 6pm.
- No tickets, no bookings — just show up at Tumbalong Park.
- Bring a picnic rug and arrive early to get a good spot on the grass.
- After the concert, head straight into the free Vivid Light Walk along Darling Harbour and beyond.
- The Laser Lightfall show runs hourly at Cockle Bay from 6pm — right next door.
Tumbalong Park is in the heart of Darling Harbour, easily reached from Town Hall or Darling Harbour ferry wharf. Free entry, no bookings, all ages welcome.
